Exploring Atlantis Paradise Island Resort

The island of Nassau is only 21 miles long by 7 miles wide, yet there was so much to see and do! I enjoyed shopping at the Straw Market, sampling different flavors of rum cake and strolling Bay Street. Climbing the Queen’s Staircase was well worth the exercise, the panoramic view from Fort Fincastle was the reward. We were treated to an entertaining tour of a distillery (samples again? Yes, please). At Graycliff, I was mesmerized at the skill that went into hand rolled cigars. The highlight for me was Fish Fry, a string of vendors selling made-to-order conch, fish and other Bahamian dishes. My absolute favorite is conch salad. The vibe was relaxed and friendly.
A quick trip across the bridge sits Paradise Island, home to Atlantis which is a destination within itself. I admit I was lost quite a few times between the six hotels, outdoor lagoons, indoor aquariums, over 20 restaurants and bars, casino and onsite shopping. I enjoyed relaxing at the beach by day and the energy of The Marina at night. I regret I did not take advantage of the dolphin or sea lion interactions. Definitely next time!
A popular Caribbean destination, Nassau Bahamas is really a two-for-one; the main island of Nassau and Paradise Island. This is a great destination for families and couples, luxury or value-conscious. I would love to help you plan your next trip for an amazing island experience.
